Most Difficult Jobs to Fill by Companies

I was recently asked by a client “Across the board, what jobs do companies have a hard time filling?”  Being a recruiter and HR master degree educated professional I knew instinctively that it would be the things create the most value for an organization so I said “Sales and Technical staff”; my strategy professor would be proud.  But after saying that I wanted to dig deeper and find out if there was any data to support my assertion and I found the Manpower Talent Shortage Survey.
After reviewing the report I found that my assertion was correct but as they say the devil is in the details and there were many areas that were on the list that really surprised me.  One quick note, I have remixed the data so to speak; instead of just reporting the top ten Global and US jobs that are hard to fill I decided to report only the ones that overlap.  The order is based on the average ranking of the Global and US Talent Shortage Survey.  Below is a list of the top 6:

2. Engineers
3. Management/Executives
4. Accounting/Finance Professionals
5. IT Staff
